About us

The Ketamine Awareness Project is a US nonprofit that tells the truth about street ketamine. We give young people and their families clear facts, push for better data, and fund research that helps prevent harm.

Why ketamine, why now

Ketamine use in the US is rising. It's turning up in more overdose deaths and more poison center calls. It's also showing up inside mixes like tusi, or “pink cocaine,” where people may not know they're taking it. Most young people have heard about ketamine as a medicine. Far fewer know what street ketamine can do to your bladder, your memory and your mood.

What we do

01 Educate.

We publish clear facts on what ketamine does to your body and mind. Every fact links to its source.

02 Push for better data.

We ask health agencies to track ketamine harm properly, so prevention can be aimed where it's needed.

03 Fund research.

We support research on long-term harm and on who is most at risk.

How we work

  • Facts first. If we can't show you the source, we don't publish it.
  • No stigma. We talk about people who use ketamine with respect. Shame doesn't keep anyone safe.
  • Street ketamine is not the same as ketamine from a doctor. We support people getting the treatment they need.
  • We're nonpartisan. We don't support or oppose any candidate for office.

Work with us

We work with clinicians, researchers, medical examiners, schools and harm-reduction groups. If you work on ketamine harm, we'd like to hear from you.
